April Fools Day has taken on many specials meanings over the years, humorous pranks and lighthearted tomfoolery, but this April Fools Day the biggest joke of is on all high school teachers in the State of Texas.

I have spent two days administering the English I and English II EOC STAAR Tests.

According to the 2014 Blueprints and the Administrator Manual:

The English I and English II Tests consists of:

a. 50 multiple choice questions

b. 1 essay, no longer than twenty-six lines, and must stay within the box.

c. 2 short answer responses, no longer than ten lines

d. 5 Reading passages of varying lengths

e. Additional field questions, another essay and another short answer response.
